Annual Review of Competence Progression
The ARCP is the method of ensuring that trainees make satisfactory progress. A panel examines reports, portfolio evidence of training, and interviews a percentage of trainees. It is the trainee’s responsibility to present evidence of satisfactory progress which will include:
- Evidence of performance in professional examinations
- A log of clinical work undertaken
- Satisfactory number of WPBAs or SLEs
- A multi-source feedback exercise of Anaesthetic practice
- Satisfactory number of CUTs or HALOs
- A completed Educational Development Time (EDT) log
- Specific evidence of performance in areas such as research, audit, teaching, education and management
- Educational Supervisor’s Report (ESSR)
